Honeywell UOP GB-222 and GB-422 Adsorbents
New Sulfur Guard Bed Adsorbents for Natural Gas Streams

Honeywell UOP has developed two new sulfur guard bed adsorbents – GB-222 and GB-422 – for both NGLs and natural gas streams to remove H2S from low molecular weight hydrocarbon streams. When compared to other standard sulfur adsorbents, UOPs new metal oxide-based adsorbents offers up to 70% more sulfur adsorption capacity and 15% fill cost savings, while achieving maximum surface area utilization and active component concentration. Additionally, UOPs proprietary processes for high degrees of macro-porosity and pore size distribution enable rapid adsorption and short mass transfer zones.

These products are an excellent complement to the UOP’s existing adsorbent guard bed portfolio and comprehensive offerings in molecular sieves, aluminas, and other specialty adsorbents.
